Dennis Allen Cunningham 1955-2014

Dennis CunninghamDennis Allen Cunningham, 58 of Pearland, Texas, who died Saturday July 26, 2014, at his home at 8:51 P.M. The services will be at First United Methodist Church – Alvin on Friday, August 1st at 10A.M. Burial will follow the services at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.

The viewing will be held at Scott Funeral Home from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Thursday, July 31st.

Dennis was born October 24, 1955 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Robert and Grace Cunningham.

He was a graduate of Champion High School and was employed as a Lead Mechanic at Continental/United Airlines for 27 ½ years. He loved so many things, Snoopy/Charlie Brown, his four dogs but planes were his passion.

Dennis was a Proud United States Marine. He served his country from January 5, 1976 to May 2, 1980. He worked as a crew chief on the 1N Twin Huey helicopters.

He fought a long and brave battle of Esophagus Cancer from October 11, 2012 to July 26, 2014.

A resident in Pearland for the last 34 years, he was a member of Alvin United Methodist Church in Alvin, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Cork Cunningham, whom he married July 24, 1976; a daughter Jennifer Cunningham of Pearland, Texas and a son Adam Cunningham of Pearland, Texas. A brother Robert Jr. and his wife Rajean of Milford, Nebraska; a sister Denise Bowen of Orwell, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; Robert and Jasmine Smith and their daughter were like his own son/daughter and granddaughter. His father and mother Robert Cunningham and Grace Borland Cunningham of Warren, Ohio; A brother Charles Cunningham of Port Orange, Florida; a sister Betty Cunningham Sindledecker of Yuma, Arizona preceded him in death.
